CLASSROOM
A classroom is a learning
space, a room in which classes are held. Classrooms are found in
educational institutions of all kinds, from preschools to universities,
and may also be found in other places where education or training is provided,
such as corporations and religious and humanitarian organizations. The
classroom attempts to provide a space where learning can take place
uninterrupted by outside distractions.
HOW A CLASSROOM SHOULD BE
·
Most classrooms have a large writing surface where the instructor
or students can share notes with other members of the class. Traditionally,
this was in the form of a blackboard but these are becoming less common in well-equipped schools
because of new alternatives like flipcharts, whiteboards and interactive
whiteboards.
·
Many classrooms also have TVs, maps, charts, pencils, books, monographs and LCD
projectors for presenting information and
images from a computer.
·
A classroom should be large enough with enough no. of benches for
students for proper accommodation of all students.
·
There should be proper ventilation , windows, two doors .
·
There should be a dustbin .
·
Proper lightning and fan should be there. One tubelight should be
there on the top of the blackboard.

Auditorium
INTRODUCTION
The auditorium is a central and important space in
any high school lucky enough to have one. It is used for all types of formal
assembly: lectures, award ceremonies, dramatic plays, musical theatre
productions, concert performances of orchestra, band, chorus, jazz band,
battles of the bands, dance competitions and so on. These varied events place a
range of demands on the room. For all events, it is essential that everyone in
the room hear, clearly and enjoyably, everything that is presented. This is the
goal of acoustical design for auditorium spaces.
The acoustical design of an auditorium is different
than that of any other high school space, because of the specific demands of
the performing arts, which distinguish the auditorium from a common lecture
hall. The auditorium will provide many students their first introduction to
performing arts, both as audiences and as performers. We would like for this
introduction to be a positive one, and we strive to provide a space that is
highly functional, artistically flexible, easy-to-use and satisfying for
performers and audience.
HOW
A AUDITORIUM SHOULB BE
It may be divided into four parts:
Reception- entrance, booking hall, foyer, etc.
Auditorium Stage- screen, back stage, etc.
The major areas of study for the design development
of a theater are: -
1. Types of
theatres
2. Relationship between
functions
3. Planning
4. Facilities and
equipment’s
5. Sightlines
6. Auditorium seating
7. Acoustics and
lighting
8. Stage planning dependent on the width of the stage.
CRITICAL
STUDY OF AN AUDITORIUM IN THE SCHOOL
·
I have found that this auditorium is not
properly built according to the design of a proper one. An auditorium, as it is
defined should have at least audio and visual facilities so that the audience can
understand the full content of a program performed there.
·
Auditorium is used for judo classes.
·
I didn’t find proper sound system and
there was no screen on which visual could be shown.
·
There should be proper sitting
arrangements for sitting of the audience.
·
At the most, I found seven or eight
chairs there.
·
Therefore, my suggestion is that proper
arrangement should be made and facilities be established to make it an
auditorium.
School library
A school library (or a school
library media center) is a library within a school where students, staff, and
often, parents of a public or private school have access to a variety of
resources. The goal of the school library media center is to ensure that all
members of the school community have equitable access "to books and
reading, to information, and to information technology." A school library
media center "uses all types of media... is automated, and utilizes the
Internet [as well as books] for information gathering." School libraries
are distinct from public libraries because they serve as "learner-oriented
laboratories which support, extend, and individualize the school's
curriculum... A school library serves as the center and coordinating agency for
all material used In the school.
HOW A SCHOOL
LIBRARY SHOULD BE
The vision, principles and management
of your school library can be recorded in your school library management
statement. This document reflects your school’s vision for learning and
underpins your library’s services, and organisation.
Library
include:-
·

· But yes librarian helped the student
by guiding them right direction.
· There are many intresting books for
students.
SCIENCE LABORATORIES
It is
imperative for schools to have the latest and high quality science lab supplies
these days. Science is different from any other subject. In order to understand
its concepts, one has to look beyond the books and conventional classroom
teaching. Effective teaching and learning of science involves seeing, handling,
and manipulating real objects and materials. The knowledge that kids attain in
classrooms would be ineffectual unless they actually observe the process and
understand the relationship between action and reaction.
Effective
teaching and learning of science involves a perpetual state of show and tell.
Good schools combine classroom teaching with laboratory experiments to ensure
that their students grasp each and every concept thoroughly. It is also
believed that laboratory teaching and experiments that are being conducted
there help encourage deep understanding in children. Children are able to
retain the knowledge for longer when they see the experiments being performed
in front of their eyes.
. There are
several scientific theories and concepts that are difficult to explain directly
from the books. Anatomy models, physics science kits, and chemistry science
kits for instance make it easy to understand the otherwise complex theories of
science.
HOW A
SCIENCE LAB SHOULD BE
·
A
science lab should be large enough with proper sitting arrangement for all
students , teachers , and lab assistant.
·
There
should be a writing board in front of the room in which a teacher can write.
·
There
should be proper lightning , fans , ventilation and fire safety arrangement,
and wash basin.
·
A
lab should contain all the equipments and chemicals, and specimens in good
conditions for each and every students of a class
·
Students
should be advised to wear lab coat, and handle all the lab equipments and
chemicals etc carefully.
·
There
should be the fascility of lockers for students.
CRITICAL
STUDY OF A SCIENCE LAB IN THE SCHOOL
·
The
lab is well equipped .
·
There
is a writing board for teacher in front of the class.
·
Sitting
arrangement is good . All students can easily view the blackboard .
·
There
are many posters related to science to encourage students for science.
·
Tables
and stools for sitting arrangement for all students.
·
There
is not a fire safety system like fire extinguisher in the lab
·
Washbasin
is not there.
·
The
room is not large enough.
CAL LAB
Computer
Aided Learning (CAL) or Computer Assisted learning can be defined as learning or
teaching subjects like mathematics, Science, Geography, and etc., through
computers with subject wise learning packages/materials.
It may
include all types of Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL), where
technology is used to support the learning process.
• It is said to be: "Pedagogy empowered by digital technology".
The CAL Idea is highly dependent to the following educational events:
• Education Commission (1964-66), called
Kothari Commission: Introduction of Vocational Courses.
• National Policy of Education (1968): Introduction
of Correspondence Courses.
• Edger Dale: Cone of Learning, Cone of
Experience (Audio-Visual Methods in Teaching, 3rd ed., New York, 1969).
• Jacques
Delors: The Four Pillars of Education,1996(Learning to be, Learning to Do,
Learning to Know, Learning to Live Together).
·
Implementation: It was felt that use of Information
and communication Technology (ICT), computers and developed
e-teaching/learning materials in the form of CAL may help in achieving the
objectives stated below. Keeping this in view, CAL, a component of computer
Education has been running under ‘Innovation’ since 2005-06 under the
supervision of SSM, Kolkata.
·
Main
Objectives:
Ø These visual, animated learning
materials not only help to memorize the tough topics at ease but also it will
act as a virtual laboratory experiments.
Ø Some so called hard subjects, viz., English,
Mathematics and Science will be joyful through computer.
Ø Computer aided learning packages will serve as
a better teaching learning materials.
Ø This audiovisual technique will help
and motivate Children With Special Needs (CWSN) to read.
Ø Above objectives will in turn help to
reduce drop out, repetition rate. Enhance in the achievement levels etc,. SSM
believes, under this programme all pupil will accept it enthusiastically and
all educational aspirants will appreciate this.
Ø Implementation technique: A computer room(laboratory room is must) with some computers
along with an audio and visual output device to show learning packages on a
large screen using an LCD projector. After discussion of subject, teacher may
show learning packages on that particular topic. Student can practice and also
an evaluation can take place like Exam(as it is also on computer and at the
same time result can be displayed to the students). Infrastructural Components:
1) Laboratory Room. 2) Computers and LCD Projector. 3) Learning Packages. 4)
Trained Teachers. 5) Motivation. 6) Discipline, Administration and etc.
CRITICAL STUDY OF CAL LAB IN THE SCHOOL
there is the CAL lab in the school I obsreved that this have all the electronical equipments and not
backword as the other govt school in this school all. In this school all
facilites of the govt is implying
computer
were in the working condition and sufficent to all the students. and sufficent
space for the students to site and projecter for the e- learing the students
also
they show some video that related to their education. I also notice some charts were their in the lab
so that students can understand some topic better , by just go through it.
SCHOOL SPORTS ACTIVITY
The school
playground has a stadium like structure with stairs for around 150 people.
Though the grass is not properly cut and the playground is not maintained in a
way it should be, but it is very spacious and students can utilize the space
for playing many sports like cricket, football, kabbaddi etc under the
supervision of their sports teacher.
Although it
is spacious, but the playground needs proper maintenance and cleanliness as the
garbage can be seen lying here and there, making it look unhygienic and untidy.
Students can suffer from chronic diseases due to the presence of garbage, thus
increasing the risk of suffering from health related problems.
Also , as
the playground is open for people from
the nearby areas of the school, these people come there with their cattles and
these cattles do grazing in the school playground itself, excreting the waste
there only, thus making the place more unhygienic and unsafe for playing.
There are
many small grounds in surroundings of
the school, but local children use school playground for playing as it
is the largest.
In my
opinion, students should be motivated to do a cleanliness drive for the
betterment of the ground as well as for themselves. Also, the authorities
should keep a check on people entering the school premises and making it look
untidy.
CRITICAL STUDY OF PLAYGROUNG AND
SPORTS FASCILITY IN THE SCHOOL
·
SPORTS
INFRASTRUCTURE IN GBSSS, HAUZ RANI
Government
Boys Senior Secondary school has a large play ground for its students. Earlier
it was an open space which was, 3 years ago, converted in yoga room, c\o basket
ball court, stadium and other NICS work.
·
SPORTS EQUIPMENT
As per the record school have almost all sport equipments required for
playing games, but as per my observation, students play only carom board.
Average number of students in one class is 34, but there are only 2 carom
boards to play.
·
SPORTS ACTIVITIES
Every year school’s junior and senior team take part in kabaddi, cricket
and throw ball matches. Senior cricket
team has also won a trophy in a match. In summers 2016, kabaddi match
was organized in school premises in which many schools participated.
But there are no other activities organized in school on regular bases
for students. There is no games period for classes 6th, 9th,
10th and for 7th C (vishwas). Other classes who have games period in their
time table play no outdoor games. Majority of students in classes have never
played any game in school playground. They play only carom board and badminton in
sports room.
·
SPORTS TEACHER
Mr. J.MEENA is the sport teacher in this school from many years. He has
to take 21 classes in a week.
6 with 12th-A,
6 with 11th-A,

medical room or first aid room is a room in an establishment (e.g. a school,
factory, sports venue or airport) to which someone who is injured or taken ill
on the premises can be taken for first aid and to await the arrival of
professional emergency medical services.
HOW
A MEDICAL ROOM SHOULD BE
school’s
legal responsibilities and duty of care
include making sure that the school premises, any school vehicles and staff
members are appropriately equipped with the right supplies to protect the
wellbeing of staff and students at all times. Key considerations for the school
are:
·

“A common room for
teachers in a school or college”
“a room used by staff or workers, specially by teachers in school, to eat, relax, etc, between classes”
The staff
room is no longer just a place to spend your lunch hour. It is a place to work
undistracted by students, an escape away from noisy corridors, a break-out
area, a library to store important documents and a place to conduct meetings.
Staff
rooms boost the morale of teachers. This communal area is where teachers can
connect with one another. A reminder that working in a school is a team effort.
Teachers need that network and this support reflects positivity onto the
students, improving results all around.

EXAMINATION ROOM
It is a room used for the
conduction of examination of students. Students used to to conduct their school
examination in that room.
It is important that
examination rooms are large enough to accommodate the numbers of students the size
of the examination room, you should ensure that the seating arrangements for
each examination satisfy the regulations stated in the current version of the
Cambridge Handbook. The minimum distance in all directions from the centre of
one student's chair to the centre of another's must be 1.25 metres.
What environmental factors should be considered when choosing an
examination room?
Examination
rooms must provide candidates with appropriate conditions in which to take the
examination. It must be an environment in which the candidates feel comfortable
and the school must pay due attention to such matters as access, heating,
ventilation, lighting and the level of outside noise. Further information can
be found in section 4.3.2 of the Cambridge Handbook, which can be downloaded
from the Examinations
Officer section of
the public website.
What information should be displayed in the examination room?
·
The Notice to Candidates
poster must be displayed both inside and outside the examination room (a copy
of the Notice to Candidates poster can be found in theExamination Officers section of
the public website).
·
A reliable clock must be
visible to all students in the examination room.
·
The centre number, and
the start and finish times of each examination, must be displayed and visible

be taken with those examinations that are held in laboratories or libraries.
CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF
EXAMINATION ROOM IN THE SCHOOL
·
The
school which I was observing, the room was very small and used for keeping
records of children resort card. The room was not that big in size. Students who
missed their exams used to give a second attempt in that room. But only 5 or 6
students can sit on that room because there was no place to keep more desks.
Moreover the way of keeping records was not systematic at all. The files were
full of dust.
